NETT Rd 5 & 6 Race Report

Duns hosted a truly memorable weekend for everyone involved, featuring the prestigious Connor Smith Memorial and the British Quad and Sidecar Championships. The track, having undergone an extensive makeover, received rave reviews from the riders who praised the new and improved facilities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to making this spectacular weekend possible.

50s/100s:

In the 50cc Modified class, Macy Edgar (7) triumphed with a total of 70 points. Alfie Chew followed on Edgar’s tails in second with 69 points, thanks to two strong second places and finishing with a win. Hurley Orr (555) finished third with 62 points, securing a podium finish. In the 100cc Standard category, William Pinder (83) matched Edgar’s achievements; instead, with 75 points from three race wins, securing first place over. While Billy Barnes (12) placed second with 66 points. In the 100cc Modified class, Beau Terrell (222) impressed all, clinching first place overall with perfect points of 75. Harrison Orr (555) led the 100cc Geared Water Cooled class, finishing first overall with 75 points. In the 100cc Geared Air Cooled class, Corey Murray (33) dominated with 75 points, winning the all three races. Joel O'Neill (19), consistent with second place finishes in all races, ended up second overall with 66 points. Roan Deal (45) also showed strong performance, securing 20 points in each of the races and finishing third with 60 points. Oliver Wilsher (136) and Harry Barker (23) had competitive runs, earning 52 points 49 points respectively, placing fourth and fifth, with Wilsher slightly edging out Barker based on individual race finishes

 

150s/250s:

In the 150 Open class, Seth Balaam (888) achieved a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races. Malachy McKenna (513) secured second place with 66 points, consistently placing second. Ella Robe (14) finished third with 54 points, showing consistent performances with three third-place finishes. Siontilly Garrett (321) came in fourth with 47 points, maintaining steady results. Shay McKenna (135) finished fifth with 36 points, followed by Louie Garrett (123) with 20 points. In the 250 Standard class, Bradley Meek (27) achieved a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races. In the 250 Modified class, Adam Gibson (4) reigned champion with a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races. Blake Orr (114) followed in second place with 66 points, consistently finishing second in each race. Luke Waddington (88) finished third with 60 points, maintaining strong third-place finishes throughout the event. Kayla George (26) followed in fourth with 18 points. In the 250 Open class, Brodie North (131) once again claimed victory with 72 points, highlighted by wins in the second and third races. Travis Toye (9) followed in second place with 69 points, securing a win in the first race and consistent second-place finishes. Jay Sams (177) took third place with 60 points, maintaining strong third-place finishes throughout the event. Amelia Talent (125) finished fourth with 50 points, showcasing consistent performances. Leon Harrison (31) rounded out the top five with 46 points, showing steady results. Closely followed by Kieran Willis (101) and William Kirwin (16) in sixth and seventh with 43 points and 36 points respectively. In the Youth Sidecar class, Louis Murch and Freddie Keane (Team 110) also achieved a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races.

 

Clubman:

In the Clubman class, Michael Robinson (31) took first place overall with 66 points, winning the first two races but placing fifth in the final race. Reggie Binskin (151) followed closely in second with 62 points, consistently finishing in the top three. Frank Marston (4) secured third place with 60 points, showing strong performance by finishing third in all three races. Jake Best (10), with a notable win in the final race and consistent top-five finishes, earned fourth place with 59 points. Ethan Best (19), with 56 points, completed the top five, demonstrating solid consistency with finishes within the top five in each race.

 

Seniors:

In the Senior class, Ed Davies (16) dominated with a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races. Steven Pinder (131) also performed consistently, securing second place with 66 points from three second-place finishes. David Shields (30), with two third place finishes and a fifth-place finish, ended up third with 52 points. Martin Sayer (57) placed fourth with 49 points, demonstrating resilience with two strong second-place finishes despite a ninth in the first race. Mike Minns (77) rounded out the top five, finishing with 43 points, showing consistency with finishes in the top five across the races.

 

Champs/ Experts:

In the Experts class, Zak Beevers (81) emerged as the top competitor with a commanding 72 points, achieving first place in two races and second place in one. Louie Holt (30), followed closely in second place with 62 points, demonstrating consistent high performance by securing two third-place finishes and one second place. Dwayne Barnes (7) finished third with 58 points, showing strong contention with one second-place finish and two fourth places. Lewis Humpries (23) secured fourth place with 54 points, displaying resilience with finishes within the top five. Richard Tordoff (82) completed the top five with 49 points, highlighted by a victory in the second race. In the Championship class, Chad Beevers (538) took first place overall with 67 points, consistently performing at a high level with two second-place finishes and a win in the final race. Harry Walker (7) closely followed in second with 65 points, winning the second race and securing high placements in the others. Dafydd Davies (15), with a win in the first race and consistent top finishes, secured third place with 61 points. Jamie Morgan (24) ended in fourth place with 56 points, consistently finishing in the top five. Oli Sansom (1) rounded out the top five with 53 points, showing strong finishes with a second place in the final race.

 

Sidecar Experts:

In the Sidecar's Expert class, Team 9 (Jack Rogers and Ryan Beavis) secured the top position with a total of 69 points, demonstrating consistent excellence by winning the first race and finishing second in the next two. Close behind them were Liam Mudie and Chris Booth (Team 89) with 66 points, showing strong performance by securing wins in the last two races after a fourth-place start. Team 112 (Jonathan Wilson and Andrew Rowan) finished in third place with 62 points, maintaining solid performance with two third-place finishes and a second place. Cameron Addis and Kyi Addis (Team 36) placed fourth with 56 points, consistently finishing in the top five across all races. Team 56 (Luke Banks and Davy Bank) rounded out the top five with 48 points, showing steady progress with finishes in the top six in all three races.

Clubman:

In the Clubman class, Jake Best took first place overall with 66 points, showing his prowess by winning two races and placing second in one. Michael Robinson (31) followed closely with 62 points, finishing consistently in the top three. Frank Marston (4) earned 50 points with a mix of finishes including a third place, a fourth place, and a win in the final race. Steven Kirwin (84) scored 49 points, maintaining strong finishes within the top five. Ethan Best (19) completed the top five with 47 points, displaying consistent performance across all three races.

 

Seniors:

In the Senior class, Steven Pinder (131) led the standings with 70 points, achieving two wins and a second-place finish across the three races. Bob Bell (89) followed closely with 67 points, securing a win, a second place, and a third place finish. Martin Sayer (57) was consistent throughout, finishing with 64 points from two second place finishes and one third place. David Shields (30) earned 52 points with steady performances in the top five, while Richard Cornett (68) rounded out the top five with 50 points, thanks to solid placements in each race.

 

Champs/ Experts:

In the National Expert Championship, George Oliver (97) and Louie Holt (30) tied for first place, both with 48 points. George's and Louie’s performance throughout the day was one to watch and something to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season. Aled Davies (9) closely followed with 47 points, earning second place overall. Zak Beevers scored 44 points, finishing in third place; whilst Dwayne Barnes (7) and Lewis Humphries (23) placed fourth and fifth with 43 points and 36 points respectively. In the Championship class, Harry Walker (7) championed with a perfect score of 75 points, winning all three races. Dafydd Davies (15) and Chad Beevers (538) tied for second place, each scoring 60 points. Oli Sansom (1) secured third place with 56 points, consistently finishing in the top five. Jamie Morgan (24) claimed forth with 47 points. Fifth place was shared by Ayrton Knowles (126) and Murray Graham (96) for a total of 44 points each.

 

Sidecar Experts/ Champs:

In the Sidecar's Expert category, Anthony Millinar and Michael Curnow (Team 23) achieved first place with 38 points, notably winning race 1. Team 114 (Sam Osbaldiston and Thomas Mackay) followed closely with 34 points, finishing strong in both races. Jonathan Wilson and Andrew Rowan (Team 112) scored 33 points, placing third. Team 137 (Taylor Whitt and Blake Stevenswood) fourth overall with 31 points. Luke Banks and Chris Pannel (Team 56) rounded out the top 5 with 26 points. In the British Sidecar Championship, Brett Wilkinson and Joe Millard (Team 1) once again led the competition with a perfect score of 50 points, securing victories in both races. Team 888 (Stuart Brown and Lewis Grey) followed closely with 44 points, consistently finishing second. Michael Hodges and Ryan Henderson (Team 13) secured third place with 40 points. Team 145 (Lee Foyle and Jack Wilkinson) earned 36 points, placing fourth in both races. Jack Rogers and Ryan Beavis (Team 9) finished fifth overall, scoring 31 points.
