You will see that camping and transponder hire is to be paid for prior to arriving under the ticket sales on the ACU website and can be done when you are placing your entry.
We apologise for the length of time it has taken to get up and running but believe me there have been blood sweat and tears over all the risks and management of running an event. So please, adhere to the rules as we cannot make any exceptions.

DUNS - 26th & 27th SEPTEMBER

Yes, you heard right, we are running at Duns on the 26th and 27th September and hosting the British Quads and Sidecars, obviously still subject to COVID 19 Regulations and event based restrictions that are subject to change at any time.
For those of you who have signed up to be a 2020 NETT Club Member we are going to transfer your membership onto next year, unless you prefer that this is refunded to you. If this is the case then please let Dot know.
Therefore, as we are not running the NETT races as a club championship, we have made a decision to charge all NETT entries a £5 day membership fee which will be added to the entry fee on the online booking system. This will provide trophy's for kids and a small kitty for prize money for NETT Adult classes.
As soon as we have all the paperwork finalised we will open the online entry system for you but keep a look out, we will let you know when this is done on Facebook and the website.

NETT QUAD AND SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP - UPDATE
As you all know we have been waiting for guidelines from the ACU throughout this season and acting on their advice.
The recent advice that we have had is not too good in that the guidelines we have to follow to run a meeting is not achievable with the amount of people required to carry out all the controls and governance necessary with only having 3 committee members plus 3 spouse's helping.
Current advice is :
- No two day events
- No Spectators allowed
- No Sidecar Sport
- No Youth Sport
- No overnight camping. (Riders will be expected to arrive early on the morning of the event or practice)
- Adult riders must be 16 years of age or over (Practice & Competition)
- Reduced rider numbers for practice and small events
- On site = Rider + 1 additional person
- No National Events or British Championships to be run in this phase
- Officials and Personnel in the "Extremely at Risk" category due to age or health must be shielded and not permitted to attend.
- Officials and Personnel in the "At Risk" category must be shielded
Apart from all the things listed above, we would have to monitor closely the entrance gate, toilets, signing on, scruitineering, the start gate, marshals etc., also which is not achieveable with the amount of bodies available to help.
To run an event with no sidecars or youths, no camping and nobody able to travel from Scotland, Ireland or Wales, would not be feasible for the Club.
We have therefore decided to cancel Dean Moor on the 25th and 26th July which only leaves Duns on the agenda for the 2020 season. However, if restrictions are not lifted regarding camping and travel we will need to cancel this one as well (TBC). We have not taken this decision lightly and appreciate it will be very disappointing for you all. Anyone who has paid a membership fee can either request a refund or we can defer it into next year, pending a decision on Duns.

As you were all probably expecting, we have had to cancel our event at Dean Moor on the 6th and 7th June in line with the statement released by the ACU today. At this stage we are not sure about the July event but we will keep you posted.
ACU Statement : ACU and AMCA plan return to motorcycle sport

The ACU Board of Directors met virtually yesterday (12th May 2020) to discuss the phased return to motorcycle sport following Monday’s publication of the UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy.
The ACU, in partnership with the AMCA, have decided that a phased return to sporting events will commence in parallel with the Government’s Step Three. Thiscoincides with the reopening of remaining business, public places and leisure facilities which have been required to close. As of 12th May, Step Three is due to begin from 4th July but this is under constant review. We will assess the situation again when the Government implements Step Two, envisaged to be the 1st June.
In the coming weeks, the ACU and AMCA will publish guidance documents for organisers looking to run restricted events after this time. This will give organisers time to consider the implications of continued social distancing and prepare future events safely.
In order to reflect the differences in devolved administrations, no British Championship Enduro, Motocross, Trials or Speedway will take place until travel restrictions between England/ Scotland/ Wales/ Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man have been lifted and other factors considered, in line with Government guidance.
The ACU and AMCA would like to thank all our members for their patience during this difficult time, and we appreciate the steps taken by many individuals, clubs and organisations to support local communities during these unprecedented events.
Sadly, as you will see from the ACU latest statement (see below), the date for suspension of permits has changed until the 31st of May, therefore our meeting at Fatcats on the 23rd and 24th May will not be going ahead.

ACU Statement : Covid-19 Update

In light of recent developments in the COVID-19 crisis, and following the address to the nation by the Prime Minister on the evening of 23rd March, the Auto-Cycle Union has today extended its suspension of all organising permits for motorcycle events until at least 31st May, but this will be constantly reviewed.
This move provides clear guidance to event organisers, clubs, venues, competitors, officials of the role that the Auto-Cycle Union must play in supporting the broader UK public health agenda.
Auto-Cycle Union Chairman, Roy Humphrey explained, “The government have required that we effectively lock-down for a period of three weeks, however given that the most vulnerable in our society are required to isolate for three months, we feel it only sensible to propose a longer suspension for all motorcycle sport. This is a time of national unity and we need to come together with the broader public community to do all we can to support this battle and ultimately save lives.
This evening, Health Secretary, Matt Hancock said the Government is launching a new scheme to recruit 250,000 volunteers to support the NHS through the coronavirus pandemic. A quarter of a million volunteers, people in good health to help the NHS, for shopping, for the delivery of medicines and to support those who are shielding to protect their own health. The Auto-Cycle Union will continue to monitor the prevailing advice from the UK Government in respect of the COVID-19 international pandemic and will update the motorcycle community accordingly.
Due to the latest update from the ACU and guidelines from the Government, we are advised that we are not able to run upcoming events. In light of this, our round at Wooley Grange is cancelled at the end of April which was due to be a Club round and the first round of the Clubmans. We will update you on the next rounds nearer the time.
This is devastating news to everyone but safety is paramount. Stay safe guys and hopefully the use by date on the Easter Eggs is a long one!

Statement on Covid-19

It is with regret that the ACU are suspending all competition and social activity until 30th April 2020, but this will be constantly reviewed. This is in response to the emerging guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.
All permits for events during this time will be cancelled and reimbursed in full to the organising club/ promoter. As the National Governing Body would ask all ACU Members to act responsibly and follow the Government’s guidance during this difficult time. We have a responsibility and duty of care to our staff who will be working from home, so please be patient with any queries you may have.
As of writing (17th March 2020) HM Government have advised:
- Persons to work from home where possible
- People over the age of 70 to minimise social contact
- Emergency services will not support mass gatherings
- Stop non-essential travel
- Avoid pubs, clubs, restaurants and cinemas
